Welcome to Acme Oyster House, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of New Orleans at 724 Iberville St. This seafood restaurant is not just a dining spot; it's an experience steeped in local culture, vibrant energy, and mouthwatering flavors. The phone number for inquiries is +1 504-522-5973, and trust me, a call ahead can save you from waiting in line to savor their incredible offerings.
Acme Oyster House is celebrated for its standout seafood dishes, particularly its chargrilled oysters. Touted by diners like Sadie Phoenix and Amy Jay, these oysters are transformed into a must-try delicacy, boasting a smoky char and rich toppings that leave even the most reluctant oyster eaters eager for seconds. In fact, Amy, a self-proclaimed oyster skeptic, became a "big fan" after her visit.
The menu is more than just oysters, however. Guests rave about the tantalizing Boom Boom Shrimp and satisfying sandwiches, including the beloved Peacemaker Po’boy. Each bite is a tribute to the robust culinary traditions of New Orleans, as reflected in dishes like red beans and rice, gumbo, and jambalaya. Pair your meal with a refreshing Blue Moon beer for an authentic local experience.
The atmosphere at Acme is just as enticing as the food. With lively music echoing through the room and a warm, inviting staff, it's a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the bustling streets of Bourbon Street. Diners like Julia Lee appreciate the upbeat vibe and the quick service, especially during quieter weekday visits, although weekend waits are worth the prize waiting at the end.
To top off your meal, don’t miss out on the famous Max’s Bananas Foster Cheesecake or the unrivaled bread pudding, both of which have garnered praise from countless patrons, including Marianna Romero. These desserts encapsulate the sweet essence of New Orleans cuisine and are not just mere afterthoughts but essential parts of your dining experience.
In summary, Acme Oyster House is a culinary cornerstone of New Orleans that you cannot afford to miss. Whether you are a local or a visitor, this establishment offers you an authentic taste of Louisiana's rich seafood heritage, all while ensuring that your experience is filled with flavors, laughter, and perhaps even a souvenir t-shirt. Dive into this seafood paradise and let the flavors take you on a journey worth repeating.

What a great experience! We tried their famous charbroiled oysters and they didn’t disappoint. A great atmosphere with great service. We went during the week so we had no wait time, however, there was a line out the door during the weekend.
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Chargrilled Oysters and Max’s Bananas Foster Cheesecake, and both were outstanding. The oysters are, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had, and the cheesecake has become my absolute favorite dessert. Unfortunately, I live very far away, so it will be a while before I can enjoy it again. We were traveling from Midland to Destin and made a stop in New Orleans, and it was definitely the best decision. Highly recommended.
This is in the hustle and bustle of where the music and entertainment is in Nola. It is a GREAT place to go to to get your oysters in. We had the raw oysters and they were bug, fresh, and delish! I loved their tangy sauce that went with it. Service was good the staff were very welcoming and kind. Our server was so sweet as well. The atmosphere is dark, lively, and original. I would definitely return again.
Acme Oyster House on Iberville is a solid spot for classic New Orleans seafood. Had a dozen raw oysters, which were salty and fresh...very tasty! Went down well with a couple of cold beers. Also had a shrimp poboy with a cup of chicken & sausage gumbo, and a oyster/shrimp poboy combo. They did not disappoint. It’s a busy place, but the hostess keeps things moving, and if you don’t want to wait, the bar is always a good option (that’s what we did). Service was friendly and on point. Definitely worth a stop!
After a 30-minute wait outside, my anticipation was high—and I’m pleased to say it was more than justified. Our server (Keisha) was delightful, the cocktails were expertly crafted, and every oyster dish was exceptional. The Oyster Rockefeller soup was nothing short of exquisite, while the grilled oysters with crab were an absolute standout. The pecan cobbler was indulgently rich, and the oyster shooter was an unexpected delight. This gem exceeded all expectations, and I’ll certainly be returning before I leave town. I can’t forget AFFORDABLE!
Classic Acme Vibes with a Front-Row Seat to the Action I’ve been a fan of the Acme Oyster House in Baton Rouge for a while now, so I figured it was time to check out this location — and it did not disappoint. Grabbed a seat at the bar and ended up with the best view in the house: watching a pro shuck raw oysters non-stop for an hour. It was mesmerizing, and somehow made everything taste even better. It was a Monday, so I had to go with the red beans and rice on the side — solid choice. Flavorful and comforting. But the real star? The half dozen chargrilled oysters. Absolutely fantastic — smoky, buttery, and worth every bite. Topped it all off by catching some LSU baseball on the bar TV. Great food, chill vibe, and a little Tiger action to round it out. A perfect Acme experience. I’ll be back!
